Complete method of cooking çeciir
To cook çeciir what you need to do firstly is to soak chickpeas in warm water overnight. You can also add one pinch of eating soda in water also so that chickpeas may get little tender before cooking.it also helps in cooking to make them tender.
Secondly take a cooking cooker and add soaked chickpeas into it. Add fresh water so that they are dip in water. Add 3 large sized onion in cooker and ginger garlic paste. Mix them well so that all the things get mixed meanwhile flame keep slow. Then add all of the spices that are red chili, salt, cumin powder, turmeric power and tomatoes. Then set pressure cooker to work. Let the whistle get start and then note time for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes of whistle turn the flame off.
You will check that all the chickpea will become complete tender and soft. You can check your spices at this stage you can add more if you needed. This is the time when you will add oil in it. After adding oil keep flame little high and keep mixing until oil that you have added in it comes up.
Two ways to present çeciir
When your çeciir is prepared you have two methods to serve them.
- You can serve as it is in form of thick gravi.
- You can add 2 jugs of water to make a liquidy soup of chickpeas.
